I want to thank you for considering Lakeside Family Center as a place for you and your family to receive services. I opened Lakeside Family Center in 2010 with the goal in mind to provide quality counseling services to families in this community. We have a great team of providers here at Lakeside Family Center!
"I hold a strong belief that each client I work with is the expert on their own lives. I love helping my clients become aware of their own ability to work through difficult experiences. I feel joy when a client trusts me with their greatest pain and I can provide a respite, if only for a brief while. I want my clients to know how to dance in the rain, rather than feel the gloom and miss the beauty that the rain produces."
"I want to work with individuals and families to help them communicate with each other and learn to support each other. I help clients identify triggers and coping skills to manage their anxiety and depression. I believe that every once in a while we can get overwhelmed by circumstances in our lives. Sometimes we just need to talk it out with someone who is a good listener and supportive as we walk through our circumstances. I can give you a place to find your way through difficulties in a safe and non-judgmental environment."
"As a licensed professional counselor, I understand the importance of creating a welcoming, safe, and non-judgmental environment for my clients. I enjoy working alongside children, adolescents, and young adults, helping identify personal strengths that serve as a foundation for building skills and resolving problems. My goal is to encourage my clients to explore and deepen their understanding on the issues most affecting their lives, developing the tools to overcome many obstacles or situations. I believe all individuals deserve to live life to its fullest potential!"
"I have a passion for helping individuals overcome past events and debilitating emotions that are causing them to feel “stuck”. I have experience working with trauma, eating disorders, grief, LGBTQIA+ issues, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I am also able to implement spirituality when desired."
"I have experience working with adolescents and adults. I served in the inpatient, outpatient, hospital, school, and jails with client’s. I have worked with the Mental health Court Program helping clients with criminal thinking and dual disorder diagnosis. My background in sports allows me to connect with my client’s while building motivation and self-esteem."
"As a therapist different counseling approaches are beneficial. My personal approach utilizes empowering, motivational, person-centered, down-to-earth and non-judgmental. I have worked in various settings including non-profit, residential group home, substance abuse treatment centers, and methadone clinics."
"My focus is client-centered and I believe that the client will lead us to their desired location if we just listen. While my specialty is dealing with clients that have had issues with drugs and alcohol in the past, my focus is more often on the client’s root causes and conditions that led them to using these coping mechanisms."
"I offer an empowering approach with meeting clients where they are in life as experts in their own lives. I believe that there is beauty that can still be attained during these moments. I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, career counseling, life transitions, life crisis, self-esteem issues, bullying and faith and spirituality issues. "
"Have you ever noticed that life seems to happen in a series of hills and valleys? Sometimes we can travel through these easily, but sometimes we can get stuck due to current or past trauma, patterns of unhealthy thinking, relationship issues, or often, we can feel stuck and not even know why. This can leave us feeling hurt, confused, overwhelmed, broken, and without hope. As a Board-Certified Music Therapist, I approach counseling with the understanding that we all have different resources and challenges, and I use a range of different treatment approaches to help meet you where you are while we work together to get you where you want to go. I also offer counseling from a Christian worldview."
"I enjoy working with children, teens, young adults, and families. My goal is for my clients to unveil their true strength and potential. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, family conflict, self-esteem issues, and behavior problems. I collaboratively work with clients to explore what it is they want to work on, and how I can assist them with the process. I believe in the beauty of everyone having a voice and being capable of having their own perspective. No one is a better expert on your life than you are, and as a therapist I aim to help you discover the true power and strength you have over your own life."
"If you are ready to begin this journey towards better mental health and wellbeing, I would be honored to accompany you, not just as a bystander but as one who will walk through this with you. I have personal and professional experience with mental health issues, you are not alone. I provide a safe, open, and non-judgemental space for you to openly share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at whatever pace is the most comfortable for you. I invite you to embark on this journey of healing and hope with me. "
